Think Visibility tomorrow
We’re just finishing a few things off in the office before Becky & I head off to Leeds (just down the road) for the Think Visibility conference. It should be a good day tomorrow as Dom has managed to get some great guys (and girls) from the industry as the speakers to do the sessions. As you’ll know this conference has been sold out for ages, but there will be a second one coming up this year so watch out for that.
I’m doing a session after lunch tomorrow on SEO, and what I aim to get across to the attendees who are from a varied skill set and background is that SEO at end of the day isn’t the quick, cheap or an easy fix which is often sold to companies which ends up giving SEO a bad name. SEO is a highly skilled occupation which has to cope with a constantly evolving environment. I also hope to give a few good pointers as to the important aspects of Good SEO, and lots of time for questions.
So if you’re going to Think Visibility I’ll see you there, if you’re not I plan to do a round up of the conference next week.

I totaly agree with your comments that SEO not being a quick fix. We operate two online shops and took the decison to have both our sites professionaly optimised. This did take a time for the results to filter through, but it has saved us a fortune in pay per click as our sites have now achieved and maintained high Google rankings. I think the key words with SEO is Patience, Patience, Patience!

I’m with Linda on this one.
“SEO at end of the day isn’t the quick, cheap or an easy fix ” – Truer words have yet to be posted.
I too beleive that SEO is a process (or mindset when you’re fortunate enough to have a solid team) and not a patch job, the more peopleunderstand this the better off they we’ll all be. It’s so much easier to work with SEO in mind than it is to clean up and optimise something after the fact.

A couple of things….
1. I am gutted I didnt get up to ThinkVisibility – 100% going to the next one, lets hope the price does not go up 🙂 – going to have a quick look see if there are any videos.
2. My clients are always made aware that SEO is a long term project, I think at first they are very enthusiastic about the SEO project but after a couple of months, that’s when I need to get them excited again and remind them of their original objectives and that we still have a long way to go.
