Spamming Twitter trending topics
First off this annoys me more than anything and I think that Twitter could easily fix the issue, so how many times do you see something trending and you have no clue why so you click the trending topics links to find something like this :
This was a simple search for 2 trending topics, but how do you make money from this and how do you do it? Well first off you need a quick script to create user accounts on twitter or if that’s too complex create 20 – 30 by hand that should do for this experiment. Secondly you need another script that tweets for you ( note you can’t do the next step successfully without a script ) then start tweeting for the accounts every 30 seconds, again if you can’t write a script there are some services out there already, but you will have to find them for yourself! Once you have this set up in a 48 hour period you can expect something like this : ( this is an Itunes Affiliate using this method NOT ME !)

Thanks for the tutorial, needed something to do with my spare time tonight. Hahaha just kidding, this is as bad as e-mail spam crap and needs to be stopped!
It spoils the whole reason for trending topics.

Although I wouldn’t do this I’d like to be able to think more like this. See this sort of opportunity / exploit weather I make use of it or not. Now that It’s been pointed out it seems so simple.
