Jimmys Farm hacked and a Penguin update theory
** Warning ** while I’m writing this jimmysfarm.com is stilled hacked. It isn’t a malware hack though just a good old traffic hack, I checked mainly Pharma and not the paypal gateway pages 🙂
Normally I don’t get into what sites are hacked and what black hat things I notice on a day today basis, but recently ( this week ) I was told that it was impossible to do blackhat seo. My retort was it’s then it’s impossible for Google to even run the OLD Penguin update, we discussed it a little and I decided the next time I could prove my theories I would …
So the black hat bit :
Simple hack, a website that has authority generates 100’s of pages with redirects then points spammed or hacked links into that website , for a good Blackhat this will take him Minutes!! ( It takes Google 2 -3 weeks to clean up, if not longer )
So jimmysfarm.com : images from Searchmetrics, Ahrefs and Majestic
First off Jimmy’s rise to Fame :
Now normally a rise in Searchmertics is a Good thing, but Jimmy is hacked and if you look at the pages that are ranking :
You can see it covered in Cialis and Paypal gateway pages, Obviously if the team behind Jimmys Farm delete the pages, remove the redirect etc quickly they wont loose their good organic traffic when Google catches up and devalues ( penalises their site ), what they can’t do easily though is clean up the Biggest ranking fact in this Game “the BAD backlinks”
Majestic Data is showing their anchor text distribution is Good, plenty of brand but they are already getting Cialis and Levitra showing up :

Another point of view is Ahref and look at the velocity of new links that has been pushed into Jimmy’s Farm this isn’t 1 or 2 links here :

which brings me on to Penguin, The way I see it is Jimmys Farm is now a fully loaded Penguin gun. The backlinks are toxic which should be cleaned up before Google pull the next Penguin Update trigger. The wider issues are is the team behind Jimmy’s Farm even aware of this problem and I see this happening to 1000’s of websites a week. It takes minutes to exploit for links or to place the redirect script, weeks for google to stop ranking and warn the webmaster and months to clean it all up.
until then why not Buy some Jimmy’s Farm Kamagra while the rankings last :

the problem is that once you got hacked and isn’t clean bad guys still have control of site.

You say above, “I was told that it was impossible to do blackhat seo. My retort was it’s then it’s impossible for Google to even run the OLD Penguin update…”
Not sure I follow.
BTW, I can accept and think I agree with your assessment that it blackhat SEO works… (I assume it works for only a little while in many cases.) I just don’t see how you connect that to running Penguin update.
Just to be clear, not arguing or disagreeing with your statement… trying to understand. 🙂

Hi David
Thanks for highlighting this issue – we inherited the Jimmy’s Farm website from another developer. This has been problematic as we’re dealing with someone else’s code.
We’re working hard to fix the current issues. We value and appreciate your comments, if you have any further observations or thoughts we’d like to hear from you, please email barry@creativesponge.co.uk (Barry Jarvis, head of digital).
Best regards

Well if nothing else, I’ve learned some different names for that particular drug. Not that I need it of course. SEO men are virile creatures of the night grrrrrrrrrrrrrr
