Definitely comment 2 I’d say. Strange though because at SMX Stockholm there were more than a couple of people mentioning you as the ‘go to guy’ when it comes to buying links/getting competitors de-listed etc. There were definitely googlers in the room at the same time. Guess they just like to see it confirmed in writing before they go taking away the link juice…

What caused you to think they have devalued your link juice due to dofollow campaign? Just curious to see how this can be detected.

I’m glad Dave – WebProNews, Search Engine Journal and all of the rest of em need to follow your example. I don’t mind it but when poeple start letting people use their company name with some keywords at the end or just some keywords it gets annoying. I have seen sites ranking well of this and it is no doubt a more effective technique then submitting to directories. I just couldn’t do it, it just doesn’t sit right with me.

Link juice or no link juice, a link like mine on this comment helps rank my site regardless of juice or not. My business and site is about affordable small business SEO and as long as links pointing to my site reflect that, lack of juice will not diminish the rankings. Sure, some PR is nice but PR is not the main ranking factor in Google. You only need a little to rank and I don’t have to get it from blog comments to do well in the serps.

read greg boser’s comments on realestatewebmasters and thought of this thread. i also seem to remember some “shoot on sight” kind of comment floating around about DaveN maybe 6 months ago. but, i think i have had a few too many lattes and thinking negatively. i think even goog can recognize/distinguish between a fierce competitor in a competitive game, versus an outright nasty/lazy f*&cker just in it to spam the engines.

do you basically just focus on links for seo or do you do onpage stuff to. i found this rasof thing thats supppose to help your onpage stuff. you think it’s worth checking out or no?

Well I have never heard of rasof but I know that you can learn basic on page SEO through books or blogs. But be careful with blogs because sometimes people just act like they know what there talking about. But on page SEO will help you in the short run and long run. But on page SEO is a must. Build links and it will help you in the long run.

To increase your juice you need to get more links, especially from sites that have a lot of juice. If you’re trying to understand link juice, I’m guessing you want to improve your search engine rankings. Improving rankings is all about a) targeting the right keywords, and b) getting the right kinds of links.
