Google New Layout – Fail
Today I started getting the New Google layout, personally I don’t like it, and I feel that the ads blend into nothing most probably a good thing from Google’s point of view to get the clicks but when I searched for site:davidnaylor.co.uk (screen shot below) :
what I noticed was a little odd, that my sitemaps.xml url was malformed, I did a quick search for some other sitemaps but could not replicate the error or even identify the cause, After a little digging I searched and found Journalism.co.uk had a similar issue only this time on the homepage:

and again here :
A little later I found that the Metro had the same issues :

and again :
I’m only guessing but I think it’s when Google is Going to suggest a title and not use the original title from the page.

Do you still get the same results? I saw the same thing this morning, but I cant replicate them now.
One thing i noticed was that Google did not pick the HTML from the source code. Google showed decoded -tags (bold) in their SERP and there are no -tags in the code for that website.

It’s like they just started learning PHP or something. Bless ’em.

David, always interested in you analysing Google and agree that this doesn’t seem quite right yet does it?

Nice analogy, I don’t like it either.
