Yahoo makes me so mad !
Tomorrow will be 13 weeks since Yahoo acquired Indextools, and another week goes by where I have to tell a client that Google Analytic’s is the best fit for them, until Yahoo pulls it’s thumb from it’s arse.. and starts offering the ability of people to trial it again for free..

http://www.vabeachkevin.comIt did take Google almost a year to release Google Analytics for free after they acquired Urchin, so if we get Index Tools before the end of the year I think Yahoo is in good shape.

http://www.assertica.co.ukThere used to be message on the index tools control panel saying they would tell us more about the acquisition – either i missed it or they decided not to bother. when you’re playing catch up to google its probably helps if you can move faster than them

http://visualrevenue.com/blogHi Dave,
.. are you on the Tequilas again!?
I actually think we run pretty fast (not forgetting it took both Google and MS more than a year and a half to pull their hand from its arse).
When we (IndexTools) got acquired (by Yahoo) a different strategy than e.g. Google for how to proceed was chosen. So we immediately pushed the tool to FREE for all existing clients and all existing agency partners (STEP A). But we simply did not have the infrastructure (Invoices tends to keep people at bay in creating new accounts) to serve hundreds of thousands of accounts.
So the next step (STEP B) is what went out to partners on the 12th June (about 200 partners around the world) – about the fact they could now start adding accounts again (still in a controlled manner).
Our buddy Mikkel Demib was actually a IndexTools Partner – and perhaps your new best friend then?
STEP C (late summer) is something I have to tell you about later… but you check out my blog about over the summer.
Cheers and have a great weekend Dave.
See you in San Jose?
Cheers

It took Google many months to release GA. It will take a few more months I’m sure. I’d rather they hold off so those of use who have paid for IT for a long time, don’t feel any growing pains when it does go free.
