Yahoo Search Index Problems :

stopping indexing the redirects, the tinyurl style stuff in the UK is killing you,
stop indexing things like the Google PDA searchresults

Ok the future :

I think that Yahoo now needs to lead by example, get it’s search engine in line, more relevant and actual results, maybe try some new ideas in winning the hearts and minds over of the next generation of searches, get into the preschool kids, develop relationships with schools, give them computers that are locked down to safe search and develop a Yahoo Safe Search for schools, get the Y! Brand in front of kids. My 7 year old son would never of heard of Yahoo or MSN if it wasn’t for me, the school teachers are Google fans and trust only in that search. It’s wrong I know they should be teaching my kids that there is more options than Google, but at present the teachers need re-educating. Yahoo could do this.

Yahoo was, generally, my choice for everything until they totally screwed up the new email and doesn’t filter spam.

The site is ugly - especially in the UK and I fear they are doomed if they don’t wake up pfq

The UK market interests me a LOT as I’m a Brit here in the US (12 years) and may be back to retire to some nice park home near London….

Good points. Y! definitely has an uphill battle, but I like their chances compared to the alternatives.

I think it is time for the red to go and replace it with the purple. As long as the shape of the letters remain the same they won’t lose any branding.

    Great points…
I agree. What Yahoo should do is target the countries that Google hasn’t quite “marketed” as yet. For example move into a country like South Africa. Open an office. Get South African’s aware that Yahoo is now trying to make a difference. Stop targeting the big giants like the US and the UK they’ve already lost the battle to Google. Looks for new ventures and avenues!

Yahoo badly need to add someg interesting features which are new in the market. They may invest in VOIP , Mobile services etc.
