Yeah it’s amazing really how fortunes change. They even have ads on there for Microsoft products! :o Remember the “Browser War” - is it all forgive and forget now, or are they just desperate?

I am quite impressed its still going at all especially looking at that alexa data. Seems like the drop has levelled off though.

I will say this for netscape though.. They had a lot of kinda cool features, like on deck for front page, that showed up in the recent Digg updates.

Netscape sucks now, the conversion rate from Netscape to my sites went to 0% a couple of months ago, that sucks!

Dave…. didnt netscape used to have a lot of webmail on their domain then in the past couple years and then remove this, resulting in a lot less registered traffic? Everyone thinks Yahoo lost traffic, just because they switched to ajax webmail, resulting in less page impressions.

I think you should look at the Compete data, I have a feeling Alexa is skewed.

Conversion rates? Take a second look at the demographics of Netscape, which is owned by AOL. I have no issues with conversion rates of Netscape users. But I would suspect that you have to consider their demographics and match that up with the topics that are posted there.

Netscape now is more about news that appeals to the general public rather than the more ‘technical’ crowd at some other prominent social bookmarking sites.

Hopefully they’re not diluting themselves by going that route… Is there still any original content?
