Wordtracker today launched their new free SEO tool for bloggers – SEO Blogger.

SEO Blogger is a plugin for Firefox which allows you to carry out keyword research whilst you are writing your blog post. For example I’m currently writing this post and on the side of my browser I have SEO Blogger running. Some of the keywords I have selected include:

  • wordtracker (119)
  • seo tools (506)
  • free seo tools (261)
  • sergey brin blog by seo geneva referencement geneve (27 – not sure what this is about)
  • blog post writing (18)
  • blog ideas (20)

Basically you type in a word you would like to research, it gives you back related keywords with search volumes – you can then choose which ones to target by adding them to your chosen keywords list. Once in your chosen keywords list it keeps a count of how many times you mention the keyword/keyphrase.

Basically this should help you ensure that all your blog posts are targeted to maximising the amount of search traffic your post could attract.

You can download the plugin here

I’m a Wordtraker subscriber and didn’t get notification of this. Are they just giving us more reasons NOT to pay to use their service anymore — or looking for ways to compete with free Google AdWords Keyword tool so many are using instead of paying for Wordtracker?

[...] If you are an avid blogger and if you use Firefox as your browser, then the new Wordtracker Firefox Plugin for SEO bloggers should interest you. This useful plugin lets you do keyword research while you write your blog. No more need for switching from one program to another. Now you can monitor the number of times you type in a particular keyword phrase while you are writing the post. A quick glance will tell you and your train of thought needn’t be disturbed. http://www.davidnaylor.co.uk/wordtracker-firefox-plugin-seo-blogger.html [...]
