Wordpress Development Plugins

11.01.08

Wordpress as a content management tool is great, lets face it everything is in one place and the development opportunities are somewhat endless. The amount of scrapers on the web can be a real pain in the neck, so when a new plugin is developed that makes scrapers work for you rather than against you my ears pricked up.

Why not have a look at Joost’s latest working make scrapers work for you.

Just added it to my website Dave, cheers! This has become quite a problem, but this simple solution credits good web authors with their work.

It is a brilliant way to help people find your blog but I wouldn’t think you get any link juice from a scraper site.

Nice way to do some damage control I guess, since you can’t avoid scraping all together you might get something out of it.

This won’t put an end to scraping - but at least you’ll get a little link love back from your scraped content - if it ends up getting indexed.

I’m sure the cutting edge scrapers are already figuring out a way to get around this - or to cull out the sites that use it.
