Ok, first off I gave this tip away at the Budapest Affiliate Conference (BAC) a few weeks ago and was going to use it again at A4UExpo London, but I have been toying with a paid members area on DavidNaylor for a while so would you have paid for this information ? ..

At the moment it’s quite easy to rank in Bing.com if you are aggressive ( I actually explained a little more at BAC ;) ) :

buycigs

if you get the idea ;) , so my suggestion was if you can take one of the top three slots in Bing for Bingo :

bingo

and then pop over here ( http://encarta.msn.com/encyclopedia_761560813/bingo.html ) you can see what Bing has done. They have included the top 3 results on the Bingo Encarta page :

encarta

encarta2

This way you get a nice clean link from a trusted domain and a Pagerank 3, of course you could link build to that page as well :0

I’ve got plenty more where that came from .. so would you subscribe to Dave’s top tips and secrets?

Unfortunately, Encarta is soon to be dead – 31st October this year in fact:

(Japan is a bit later, December 31st)

I’d possibly pay. Not sure how much mind you, but considering some tips if used correctly could easily make the subscription cost back and more then I’d consider various amounts.

I think if you were to charge then you’d need to demonstrate a bit more value, not that I don’t think you have anything valuable to give, but there’d need to be something available that you can’t get for free elsewhere. I don’t think that just comment on the SEO industry would be enough.

If you could guarantee your subscribers some “time” if they have a query they’d like you to address (maybe on a credits per month basis similar to SEOmoz) or some kind of insight tools, then you are going to find more takers.

no wonder it will be dead by the end of october, the title for the links says Windows Live Search Results and the link below http://search.msn.com/results.aspx?q=.
they are not even aware that it is not called Live Search anymore, but BING ? ;-)

I tend to not pay for much info and when I do I am usually disappointed due to being over promised or hyped. However Dave’s Top Tips & Secrets I would consider if reasonable. Thanks!

I’d definitely pay, between you and the seobook paid forum – i’d feel pretty confident that I’d be getting top tips.

Furthermore, the value of these things goes down with useage – so there’s considerably more value from a niche technique like that when it’s not extensively published.

You know, one of the main things I’ve always liked about this site is the willingness to share, without the need for a paid subscription.

That said, you get what you pay for so I MIGHT be up to sending you some of my hard earned Euros to continue with “premium” content, Mr Naylor.

I would likely pay a little something. That was a great tip. I am trying to figure out what you mean by “aggressive” but I think I’ve figured it out.

I would be interesting in a paid membership, but the factors that plays a big role for me to make the step to become a paid member would be the price range and the frequency of new updates.

Perhaps you could do a poll on the price range Dave? ;)

The problem is the golden truths may get shared outside of the membership. Members would need to swear to secracy and drink rare-breed yorkshire goats blood. And problay max. 200 members – but I think u could get away with £200/yr, so that’s 40K a yr – not too shabby 4 a few pearls.

I found this trick myself a few months aswell.
However for a simple link from their domein you don’t need to rank. You can simply search for something that will always rank your site.

For instance you can search for site:youdomain.com and on that page there will be 3 links to yourdomain.com.

http://encarta.msn.com/uk+seo+dave.html is their resultspage when you search for “uk seo dave” and you see a link to your domain and your blog-page.

The things you find when doing backlink research… I´ve got at least 5 more sources for easy links similar to this technique.

I have to admit I’m with Paul too – I wouldn’t pay either. I’m already a member of one paid seo forum and I don’t really see any value in subscribing to a second.

The problem is, even if you give out a truely great tip, and you have a few hundred members who each use it on a handful of sites, its going to get burnt/spammed anyway and no longer be worth anything.

I think you could have used a better tip to demonstrate why we should pay, given that any links built from this one are going to be dead in a month by the looks of things.

Maybe there would be value in selling access to a private forum, along with tools etc. Its just not for me really, with Aaron’s free tools and Advanced Link Manager and Advanced Web Ranking I have everything I need.
