When will RSS start killing your site ?
Take this search term and think about it, 90% of those sites are just using my RSS to create more and more content of themselves, I even get things where people replace keywords in the text like seo and link them back to themselves. which is annoying.
so what can you do, most of these sites tend to run adsense, so a DMCA and email to request the adsense get banned will work.. or maybe push a load of porn terms or terms that we unknown Google hates and see if you can get the adsense banned, But what get’s my goat is when people use my content and sell links off it !! while running adsense, which brings me onto why the Hell does Google allow adsense on sites that sell links ?
surely this is an easy choice of Google, Ban the adsense accounts then it’s the webmasters choice sell links or get adsense money, which would you do ?

Learn to embrace the scrapers
Thanks to a nice little RSS footer wordpress plugin from Joost you can atleast gain some backlinks from the sites.

RobertoI have run into the problem of scraper sites and ‘rss directory’ sites stealing my rankings, and getting smacked down with a duplicate content filter.
The solution has been to add more links to my original site’s original article in the newsfeed description, with a link here and there to the homepage too…if there are many links back to the original site appearing in the feed content, google seems to learn sooner or later that THAT’s the domain of the originating content.

http://johannburkard.deYou can defend your site to some extent against scrapers. One thing I frequently do is to do an RDNS of the IP addresses that download your feed. If I find hosting companies (as opposed to dial-up) in the list without any indicator what the feed is used for, I block that netblock.

Robertoanother couple of things that help a little bit to guard against scrapers: put a base href tag in the head of the HTML, and always use full, absolute links.
