When is crosslinking not crosslinking

04.08.05

I guess crosslinking does not count when you are one of the big boys..

while playing around with Ubuntu I ended up at http://sourceforge.net/ now i would not expect to see a very light grey link at the base of EVERY page ( rotating anchor )

and the more I browsed the more I found, can some one please tell their SEO this is NOT cool

You reckon they have an SEO?

You know the big boys get a big fat green light when it comes to this sort of thing.

Cant have something like Sourceforge MIA due to naughtyness can we.

We crosslink the shit out of everything - sitewide footers on each site, pointing to every site, with some slight variations in anchor text, because the US terms are slightly different.

Works really well for us, but we also have plenty of other, quality links too. I guess its a %age thing

Dave… When are we going to hear about your Google late night party experience. I’ve been waiting for a blog entry so I can link to it - wouldn’t want to release the news before it’s out there officially. ;)
