VAT drops to 15%
Chancellor Alistair Darling has cut VAT from 17.5% to 15% in his pre-Budget report as part of an £20bn package aimed at kickstarting the UK economy.
This was reported on the BBC early today, Then I thought about all the Standing orders the cost of sending out letters and for what I have a service at 19.99 inc Vat ~( £17.01 + 17.5% )
I have already paid for 6 months advertising with that price quoted.. so, Mr Darling why will the consumer save anything the cost of me changing my adverts and standing order is a lot more then me charging £19.99 inc Vat ~ ( £ 17.38 + 15%) , yep businesses make more, not much but the consumer doesn’t save

Mr Brown could have done few other things than changing the VAT Rate to 15% to illustrate so well his complete lack of judgement and practical experience in the “real” world. The cost and inconvenience of changing systems to anyone in business will far outweigh any benefit. The change will be minimal to the consumer.

Rock on boys (and girl), you may not have the weather, but they are now making it easier to travel.

http://www.hostingguiden.dkWhoa, 15% – come talk to me when you hit 25% VAT which we’re faced with in Denmark..
On the other hand, a Danish tv station just showed some stats that London actually is the cheapest city for the Danes to x-mas shop in.

http://nickwilsdon.comI agree with Dave – this is going to be a PITA to implement across all the systems and paperwork. They might as well taken a decent slice off to make it worthwhile for us – i.e. 10% – a reduction of 2.5% isn’t going to make people run to the shops.
