Ok all hats off.. SEO, Whitehat and Blackhat. As a user of Google the products I use are :
Google Search ( NON - Personalized Home )
Things I have tried
Toolbar Gmail, GTalk, Googlepages, Sitemaps, Maps. Earth, Desktop, Blog Search, Froogle .. in fact the list goes on and on but i never keep using them.
ok if you want to get my data for search patterns etc, here is the Idea .. It’s Golden BTW
I will use my Gmail and use Personalised search and you let me personalise my settings, the setttings I want to change are :
turn off Images in serps.
turn off News in serps.
turn off “See results for:” in middle of serps.
turn off “maps of”
In fact just give me my classic view back, clean serps and adwords !! and nothing else .. please and you can collect my data :)

Same for me. Google products other than search are very relative success, when they are not failure IMHO.
I suppose you have seen this, but it is very interesting concerning usage of Google properties :

What’s with the new look D?
Advice to Google: fix your damn search results.
So many bugs have surfaced in the last few months it is almost laughable; what the heck do your QC guys actually do?
site:domain.com vs. site:domain.com/ - shows incomplete/duff results, or tons of supplemental results.
site:domain.com inurl:www vs. site:domain.com -inurl:www - that latter search shows supplemental www pages even though you ask for www pages to be excluded.
site:domain.com showing cached pages that have a meta robots noindex tag on them.
canonical problems are still not fixed - heading for 2 years now!
302 hijackings are still not completely fixed.
and on and on and on….
Even though for regular users all the new Google betas etc. look like regular annoyances, for Google they are devaluations of its brand and a loss of strategy.
I agree with you that the personalized search is a great ides for Google :->, the Toolbar is probably almost as evil as PS too…
