Site Explorer – a bit bust?
While “playing” with Yahoo Site Explorer today, we came across a little bug. We typed in the address of one of our sites, and got the following (beer-vision applied):

Notice pages vs inlinks – Now, we know that the number of inlinks includes internal links from the site, so what’s wrong with this picture? How about if I told you that every single page on that site links to the homepage? You got it. It’s not possible for that site to have less inlinks than pages.
Bug? Feature? Don’t ask me, I’m just a programmer.

http://www.smart-it-consulting.com/catindex.htm?node=2Perhaps the inlinks on the domain level don’t count in the internal links, while the inbounds per page show everything. I found a few examples where this is quite accurate, or at least plausible, but also domains where all numbers are unexplainable.
