Thanks for the tip, not a fan of personalised search so great to be able to turn it off. Shame that the masses will have no idea their search results are being determined by what they’ve previously clicked on though. I still think it should be an opt in service.

Last week I was all excited about being number 1 for quite a big term, only to realise that customisation was switched on without me realising. I’m back to number 5 :(

Damn it Dave, I was just about to blog about this today after the office noticed totally sporadic results throughout for different search phrases.

Thanks for saving me some typing though :D

Wish that i had that option, but it is not one for me logged in or out. I am stuck on each search removing the personalization.

Personalised search is really annoying, my colleague figured out how to switch it off almost as soon as it was rolled out, I’ve had it switched off ever since! I agree with Simon Turner, it should be ‘opt in’.

Thanks for the tip Dave. I’ve just been logging out every time I’ve wanted to check rankings.

I haven’t cleared my cookies since Google decided to opt us all in yet I have had to disable personalised search 7 times.

    Anyone else?

This doesn’t seem to work for session-based customizations. Even after opting out, I still get customized results and also the “View customizations” link on top right (at least for searches in the same session).

Great!, Personalised search is a pain, and Google haven’t made it obvious how to disable it.
