Best looking Seo

Who is the best looking (Famous) SEO in the business ? Ok, I once did a post asking who are the women of seo and then got loads of stick. So this must be open to both the men and women of seo.

I’ll discount myself on the grounds, I did the post…(hehehe) Oh and Dave says I look like Matt Cutts but bigger. ( Nothing wrong with that)

So this is… can brains match with beauty?

Dave is offering a prize for the winner, which could of course cause problems if fellow SEO’s vote for Dave. How many SEO’s wear glasses and look slightly geeky…(myself included (sorry Matt) ?

I’ll start the ball rolling then,,,SEO Chicks ? Rebecca ? Vanessa ?

Ok, I just listed loads..but try and narrow it down if you can.

Yummie Tummie, Bingo and Driving Lessons

What do Yummie Tummie, Bingo and Driving Lessons all have in common?  Answer… TV Coverage!

There’s no doubt about it TV Coverage gets you loads of website traffic. Yet another one of our SEO clients gets its product highlighted, this time on Oprah. Yummie Tummie (Yummy Tummy) gets its debut and HerRoom should see their traffic levels peak when this goes live.  An extreme traffic peak occurred when Gaming Alerts had their Bingo site profiled on the BBC Dragon’s Den program back in October last year.

The Bronco designed Bill Plant Driving school website that offers driving lessons throughout the UK has  just seen traffic figures rise after Bill Plant himself was on the BBC News for his Spitfire Support.

The key seems to be get as much media coverage as possible, get seen, get vocal and don’t be afraid to jump into that publicity spotlight whenever the occasion arises.

Ecommerce SEO

Yes, I am still in the Bronco building. This last week or so I have been looking at a range of Ecommerce sites for SEO. A vast majority are pre-built templates which claim to have great SEO implementation hmmmm FOOTPRINT. Most of these wondrous shopping carts also have default product descriptions, great — so loads of dupe content floating around on the web too.

Dave pointed out loads of seo tips for the Ecommerce sites, but a great deal of these involve changing the very structure of the website and almost implementing SEO from scratch to train an gain some consistency throughout the web pages. In doing so there is of course always a risk of affecting the ranking of some products that have already gained some traction within search whilst as an SEO you need to focus on the client’s primary keywords.

I’d be interested to know what Ecommerce software anyone has found that’s near the mark? All of the Ecomm systems we use tend to be built in house with full SEO implemented and tweakable, so we tend to see things through rose tinted specs..

See a webpage like a SEO

Ok the first thing I always check is server headers, a common mistake is 302ing the home page to an internal page so here is the screen shot of what a server header should look like :

server header

the next thing is Links and ratio of inbound to outbound links something like :

link ratio

I can see that I have too many internal links, I still like the 100 links on a page rule, so that means I need to do some culling, most probably in my NAV .. any way externals links is next on my list. What is the web master allowing to be followed is normally a good indication if a site is selling links, if a high % of outbounds are a Nofollow and a few and clean links, IMO the clean links are either owned by the web master or are purchased .. Blog’s can be a little different you can see mine here :

extenal NO-Follow links

that’s my Comments with NoFollow, and my posts Have clean links, I can also see MY V10 tracking script, My Flickr account and my Firewall Script here :
external follow links

I can also see that I have a few Sphinn links due to the fact that I pull in their RSS, but again I’m happy that Danny and his Mods will keep that feed clean but it’s a good reminder that I’m linking externally !!

btw The Tool is Here

Search Local Search Global

TLD’s and hosting, where would you host if you wanted prominence within serps in a certain geographic area,,,? Does it make a difference. Is it just microsoft that’s focused on localisation?

Sounds like an easy answer to this one.

Search engines must put weight on hosting location and im not just talking ip address.
