Less TalkTalk More Lies Lies


It seems that TalkTalk are targeting ADSL customers in the area where I live, which I don’t have an issue with at all. I have seen a few others before, Tiscali was one of the better ones, at least they didn’t make false promises and mislead the customer.

Bronco (me) sells ADSL via Griffin and Entanet mainly to businesses on a 5:1 contention ratio, 8 mb line, but we do have a few home users via the www.ripon-internet.com site and they get Ripon Internet email addresses.

so a few facts when a Ripon Internet or any other small independant ISP gets an ADSL account taken away by TalkTalk

1) Email addresses, for whatever reason TalkTalk’s newly acquired customer thinks they can keep using my email server and keep their Ripon Internet email addresses for free, of course when the email address is cancelled along with the ADSL they ring us up and shout at us saying that TalkTalk said they could keep the email address, this just isn’t the case… you cancel your ADSL you have cancelled your service with Bronco.

Ask TalkTalk if you can keep your email address at Talk Talk once you have moved away from them :)

2) Migration codes - something that TalkTalk seem to not like asking for, twice this month we have been informed by our suppliers that they are issuing cancellation charges, of course the customer needs to pay this £38+ fee normally, but if they had asked for a migration code they get to transfer to TalkTalk for free. Maybe if they had asked us before switching they would have found out that they would lose that email address that they have used for the last 2 years!

3) Also TalkTalk’s newly acquired customer will not be getting FREE telephone support from Bronco anymore, no matter what the TalkTalk sales person said before you transfered, you can’t just call us! and ask how to setup Outlook up …. we will charge you, I know you got that service for free before but you’re not a customer anymore.

4) Yes it can really take 3 weeks to move back to me because TalkTalk can take 7 days to cancel the line which means that BT can take 7 days to move the line back and another 7 days to get ADSL back on the line

The World has gone mad !

Jonathan Ross has landed himself and sex manic Russell Brand (and all round good guy) a suspension and a serious finger wagging at, over the controversy of telling Fawlty Towers star Andrew Sachs that Brand had f**cked his Granddaughter.

More than 18,000 people have complained to the BBC, this lady was on TV complaining.

To be honest I didn’t think she looked like a Russell Brand fan, but it takes all sorts.

I would like to know how many of the 18,000 complainants had actually listen to the show which was pre-recorded early in the week, I bet not even 1%. What about the people that allowed it to air? Maybe we should burn them at the stake? Apparently after the show aired there were only 2 complaints and they were for the swearing, not the prank.

OK the calls were undoubtedly piss funny if you’re a Brand fan :) and in bad taste if you’re not, but the BBC’s radio program review process is to blame here. It was a pre-recorded show, they let it air but more than that on the day the show was recorded, a producer called Andrew Sachs on his mobile to ask whether they could play the recording in question.

Andrew said:”The signal was poor and I couldn’t really hear what was being played down the line to me.”, “But I asked whether they would consider allowing me to come in the following week and then the recorded segment would not have to be included.”

He said Ross had “personally delivered a letter of apology and some flowers” since the broadcast.

hmmmm didn’t I read recently that the BBC are trying to cut back on spending … £6 million a year for Ross now that’s a big saving I guess…and as for Gordon Brown getting involved I would have thought he has more important things to be focusing on right now like the state of the country the recession.

Shopping Online for Gifts

Added by Dave : my point of view on this “I’d rather pay a little more to amazon.com, than daves-gift-store.. just because I believe that Amazon will deliver the goods before Christmas and not go bust !!”

Online retailers of gifts like books,toys, music and games are set to make a killing this year in the lead up to Christmas. The major player’s such as Amazon.com steal the limelight and leave many other online gift shops in the shade. Is this because of their outstanding levels of customer service we ask ? Taken at random allgiftsonline.com what chance do they have competing with the likes of Amazon.com ?

After my recent experience of buying online at Empire Direct  and the total  let down with delivery and poor customer service  I would certainly think twice about trying to secure Christmas presents online this year. What if the product simply doesn’t turn up ?  If the large online retailers have problems outside of the seasonal  online shopping rush, what chance do they have of fulfilling shoppers requirements at peak times?

GoCoffee Jura Coffee Machine



GoCoffee.co.uk is a specialist supplier of coffee machines in the uk, and 2 days ago I purchased another Jura Coffee machine, due to increase in staff etc, they offer free delivery anywhere in the UK unless you want next day and because I’m at A4u next week we paid the extra for next day delivery… we even called them to make sure !

Why can’t on-line e-commerce companies just do what they say they are going to.

Error Code C0FE1701

With the error code C0FE1701 or C0FE1800 just wait a few hours more before trying

AOL is having a temporary outage at the moment where users can’t login and are getting a c0fe1701 error code, but we are seeing a massive amount of bounce backs from them at the moment as well, C’mon Aol you are causing massive loops backs on the mail servers, and if you add the fact that Griffin had massive issues yesterday dropping 16,000 users grrrrrr, I will be glad when this week is over !
