SEO Trust Matters
Do you really know who you work with ? Well, I’d like to think so. DaveN and I were just having a discussion on the matter of trust. One of the reasons for example that Bronco is successful is that the staff not only work as a team but play as one too, everyone shares an interest in each other. ( OK sorry if this sounds cheesy but it’s true) In amongst all this is Becky, Dave’s wife who keeps everyone organised.
We don’t always get on, that’s true also, but usually a disagreement occurs because someone is exploring a new idea and is highly motivated by it.
We have all heard the saying it can take years to build a reputation, yet seconds to loose it. Possibly trust can work the same. Why am I blogging this ? well if someone asks me something I will ALWAYS run it by DaveN first, Why ? Because he is experienced and is also my boss and has never let me down before. If I am asked to work on a project, I will ALWAYS ask DaveN.
If a client asks me to do something, I will ALWAYS ask DaveN. The reason for asking is not that I can’t think for myself, it’s because ( I hate to admit it) he is usually right.
What if someone asks me to do something on the grounds Dave may not be pleased….. I run it by him too :0)
I have learnt quite a lot this week, particularly that I am more trusting than Dave is and sometimes this leads to situations where I need a hand out of the trenches. So even on a non- work level, I’ll ask DaveN.
Now here is a statement, If someone offered me twice the salary that Dave pays I wouldn’t move. Why? Because strangely it’s not all about money. Could you put a price on learning something new every day…?
OK SEO experts, do you ever admit to asking others ? Whats the trust level like in the organisations you work in or indeed the clients you work for?

haha .. trust,,
I trust Dan to buy the wrong car many many times over..
but I trust him with the keys to my blog he doesn’t have to ask me he write want he wants when he wants..
But the company is like that we do try to help where we can, like next month for staff that live more than 5 miles away they will get a Petrol allowance per mile.
we have bupa, and other freebies like race night at Ripon a few times a year we pay the guys in get some tips
(thanks Janet) and give them gambling money to bet with..

I dont mean to be rude to Dan but isn’t this Dave’s blog? I subscribe to read Dave’s thoughts, not Dan’s.
I’d be happy to subscribe to Dan’s blog and read his thoughts and insight there but not here.
If it was a company blog and everyone who worked for Dave made a contribution that would be different.
Don’t mean to be an asshole – just my thoughts.

@ brian, I used to have Rob who used to be my Tool programmer do posts as well.
the company is spilt into design , PPC, hardware and of course SEO, Me and Dan work side by side, sometimes I notice a headline and I get Dan to blog it , interviews are done by Dan, general news etc..

http://www.andrewblackburn.co.uk/andys-catch-up/I had a similar relationship with the guy who taught me SEO as you seem to have with Dave, Dan. I would run a lot of stuff by him before making decisions, both work and personal. He would do the same in reverse. We had a good friendship and that developed into a seriously good working relationship.
Last I heard, which was January, he had emptied the company accounts and done a runner with a Brazilian bird he met on a business trip to London.
Not meaning to put a dampner on anything, just my two pence worth.

http://www.yourslice.co.ukMy grandfather always said you are never too old to lean, never be afraid to ask a question you do not know the answer to, you may think it’s a stupid question but if you don’t know the answer than ask.
I live by this I have asked Dave questions when I have meet him face to face and I also trust and respect what he says.
Clients I never 100% trust a client I have been stabbed in the back to main times in the past, like you I was to trusting.

http://digital-frontier.dkI ask around, but never Dave!
Simply cannot understand what he’s on about and I often get it wrong
Nah, Dave is probably a very good choice when it comes to having a 2nd opinion.
