Ok Scraper Sites, Wrong or Right ???
Googles new guidelines state : http://www.google.com/webmasters/guidelines.html
These quality guidelines cover the most common forms of deceptive or manipulative behavior, but Google may respond negatively to other misleading practices not listed here (e.g. tricking users by registering misspellings of well-known websites). It’s not safe to assume that just because a specific deceptive technique isn’t included on this page, Google approves of it. Webmasters who spend their energies upholding the spirit of the basic principles listed above will provide a much better user experience and subsequently enjoy better ranking than those who spend their time looking for loopholes they can exploit.
But, i don’t think that Scraper sites are deceptive, they are just large collections of websites collected Via Keywords… so where is the problem..
And why did google give so many the handjob this weekend..

Whoooah! Who made Google police of the web? Why should they care about mis-spelled domains? I’ll keep hiding my activities from Google and spamming the hell out of them on one side, and launching fully-fledged google compliant sites on the other. They would be advised to step down from their high horse every now and then.
The web is full of scraper sites - we (the SEOs) only account for a small part of them. Google is a pure scraper site. Google News is even “worse”. When Google index it’s own search result pages it scrapes a scraper site. Many other sites scrapes scrpaed content too. The web is a content recycle shop and we did not even start that trend :)
Erosion of Value: Small General Directories…PUNT!
Post about the declining value of small directories through the eyes of the Google search algorithm.
Well I never made any money on the net, untill I set up a scraper site, and started getting about 500 hits a day, with 5-20 sales per day of memberships.. but obviously google is filling up with them, its so difficult to find specific things, especailly with a long search string you just get lists of bogus directories, but after all isnt DMoZ etc just a glorified scraper site anyway,, they cant say your directory is a scraper site, who is going to distinguish, , so they just have to let the net overflow with them..
Well I don’t that google will harm itself by penalizing scraper sites since it is making a lots of money out of them anyway, so I don’t think we need to worry anyway.
