So it must be every man’s dream…. to go and see their home team play in the World Cup. Lucky me is all I can say as I’m flying off to Germany tomorrow for the quarter finals. I’ll be watching Italy v some shite team on Friday, and England v Portugal on the Saturday.

5 places to add your keywords, when setting up a MFA (made of adsense) site

1. “Keywords” in Content - Without going crazy and having “loans,loans,loans,loans, get cheap loans, a hundred Times on the page”, try to write a good but well “loaded” article and keep your high density area in close proximity to the actual ad - infact the proximity thing is probably the best tip!
2. “Keywords” in Titles - title tags and h tags tend to impact very quickly, Now in the blog world, the onpage Title and your Title Tag should be almost the same.
3. “Keywords” in Links - check the links to the article from your site and other peoples sites, external sites can influence your ad’s
4. “Keywords” in Url - again don’t over cook it as it will influence your ad’s !! :)
5. “Keywords” in MetaTag - hmmm, the Jury is still out in my office on this one, but hey it can’t hurt

and remember remove any unwanted shit

1. Section Targeting - Last year AdSense brought in the feature “Section Targeting”.. read about it and use it the google_ad_section_start(weight=ignore) for your menu’s and non relevant links out of the site in the footers sidebars

OK, Adam from Google give me a hard time at SES London because I bad mouthed Google Sitemaps. That’s fine, Matt gives me a hard time now and again, but Adam was very PRO Google Sitemaps. Which I can understand as he works for Google, but his arguments where very strong so I have tested sitemaps on two sites … :) one that’s banned and This one .. lets have a look and see what we can find ..

HTTP errors .. there are loads ( the site went through a redesign and we dropped stuff ) so far so good, If I really cared about this site I would 301 those 404 pages to the new pages, but I’m lazy and Google will find the new pages in the end anyway.. ( don’t care about link love that much, but a 301 would sort that too)

OK the banned site….

No pages from your site are currently included in Google’s index. Indexing can take time. You may find it helpful to review our information for webmasters and webmaster guidelines .. ok that’s good ..

But wait a minute, Query stats show keywords and Positions.. but the site is banned??.. The PageRank of your pages in Google .. Is LOW shouldn’t it be NONE/white, not low.

So Overall I like sitemaps.. BUT if a Site is banned in Google, why not give me the Reinclusion request and not data? .. and where did that data come from?… how can I rank #1 for a keyword when the site is Banned !!

I heard on the radio that hundreds of Dutch fans had to watch the World Cup game against the Ivory Coast in their underwear when they turned up in orange lederhosen’s displaying the name of a Dutch brewery “Bavaria” when the official sponsor for the World Cup is Bud, .. So if I can get enough girls to wear MSN T-shirts and Google bra’s the quarter finals will be fun. Me, I’m wearing my Yahoo Cap !! just to be on the safeside..

Man !!.. Danny Sullivan has a brand new Sky HD Box, yes a Sky HD Box.. if you’re reading this from the US you’re most probably thinking what the hell is a Sky HD Box,

Well in the UK we have one main source of good TV and that’s SKY. A year or so ago SKY came out with a Tivo type box (harddisk for recording programs and the like) but unitil recently the picture quailty was … well not that good compared the HIGH DEF the States were getting … anyway the Sky HD box , is really the best quailty TV we can get … so read what Danny has found out on the :

Things I have tried

Toolbar Gmail, GTalk, Googlepages, Sitemaps, Maps. Earth, Desktop, Blog Search, Froogle .. in fact the list goes on and on but i never keep using them.
ok if you want to get my data for search patterns etc, here is the Idea .. It’s Golden BTW

I will use my Gmail and use Personalised search and you let me personalise my settings, the setttings I want to change are :

turn off Images in serps.

turn off News in serps.

turn off “See results for:” in middle of serps.

turn off “maps of”

In fact just give me my classic view back, clean serps and adwords !! and nothing else .. please and you can collect my data :)
