Firstly yes I did get kicked out of a Casino in London (not wanting to mention HardRock, but you need better dealers)
But what gets me is the massive attack of “Online Casinos” wanting my services … yer I never signed up to anyone lol..
I think I had at last count 5 Online Casinos tapping me up, but we love you Jen
, But the big thing here is the UK market place is really geotargetted quite badly.

My guess is that we will see some UK brands buying up US casinos and Vice Versa. This year is looking very very INTERESTING ON THE Casino front.

Will see some mergers! Ladbrokes are still talking with 888 about a possible takeover

Did someone say casino?
I have my beady eye on you David.

Guess I should have checked that out. Ive seen more marketing in the UK by 888 then any other casino. TV, Billboards etc.

What every happened to GoldenPalace.com? it’s not there anymore! they were number #1 forever in google…

>> Ladbrokes are still talking with 888 about a possible takeover
That’d kill 888. I’ve been to see Ladbrokes twice, and they haven’t got a clue (in the nicest possible way, of course). They wanted to know what it’d take to rank for “online poker” and “sportsbook” terms, using pure WH, zero-risk methods

Might be more of an interesting space in the UK, what with the new super casino going up in Manchester, etc.

Time to put my hat in the ring here.
Online Casinos make money, its like a sausage factory, and the more Poker Players you can convert into Casino players, the more money u make.
This snippet from Party Pokers last Annual Report (rehashed by me):
“Basically we put a Blackjack Icon on the Poker Games client and guess what, Poker Players then wagered $47 mill, for a player return of $46 mill, we were making a $1 million US a day profit from Blackjack.” (before their US pullout)
After reading this all the other sites followed suit.
So yeh, its a big year for Casinos, especially enticing the Asian Baccarat/ Pai Gow players.
Oh Dave, I am the guy who the crazy Russian got on the phone last Tuesday night, sorry about his behaviour.
Cheers mate

Some of these have changed already. Looks like 888 is back at number 2 for US proxy.

The 888 and Ladbrokes merger may go ahead but I have my doubts. I think the largest mergers/takeovers will be from the larger brands using their management expertise to bring on the Far East sites that are already popular but lacking some real marketing experience and budgets.

It really is a competitive market. 888.com have just pulled a sneaky stunt “Free 888.com T-Shirts for Bloggers that give them a link”
Can you believe that!

The only real good casino that is still open to USA players has to be Goldencasino.com. And, yes, it is a competitive market Ben.

Another website that has climbed very quickly is http://www.crystalpalacecasino.com .

Hi Dave,
I used to be SEO manager at casino.oddschecker.com and can explain a little bit. Basically as in any large organisation there are so many goals and targets and in betting, poker or in this case casio’s at its so competative strategies tend to revolve around placements for more “long tail” type phrases which tend to deliver higher conversion ratios. You’re observiation is ofcourse correct, but generally speacking the day to day opperations of making money / hitting targets tend to over sea the more strategic issues. Potentially yes though, I can see some kind of consolidation in this market. THe real problem facing gambling market at the mo, is the black hat coaking seo’s etc. They just pop up and rinse the domains for a month or so then F off again.
Anyway, later for now.
- 17
Hi Allan, thanks for that. Do you still work in SEO or that in your past now?
- 18
the long tail and the nich phrases are much more expensive in terms of market research and content managmnet, i believe casinos should be marketed by quality video media publishing like video clips. i believe sponsored sexy video clips can make better results.

888.com makes lots of offline advertising at the uk.

The war between traditional and online casino isn’t over as I think. There are some big companies like Neteller (as billing system) or PartyPoker (as the largest casino) who will continue to lobby in order to return their positions. I think that decrease in ‘casino for sale’ business on the US market will be substituted by increase on the European and Asian market.
- 21
I agree about video advertising. Though I mean not TV ads, but on-site video ads. Those that I have seen already are truly awesome

Everyone is currently talking about the explosive growth in the online bingo market, but the online casino rewards can be so much greater albeit erratic versus the steady growth and player spend in the bingo space.
Cheers

They say that gambling on online casinos increase 10% every year, even when the economy in the country goes bad.

Lets face it, casinos are here to stay and they will always find a way to survive and provide gambling to players who want it. It is the players money, they can do what they want with it. FACT

I definitely feel that 888.com will be trying to become established by buying US ‘property’ but I’m not so sure about the rest
