Cheers guys for all of the suggestions and ideas that you came up with on my post earlier this week about monetarising my site.
I love the idea of the subscription to a secret behind the scenes world of DaveN, but this will need some thought to provide the best value for money to the members… plus some extra coding.
In the mean time I am going to ditch the adsense and offer up the real estate on my site for sale to any willing sponsors. This will be on a monthly basis, on a highest bid basis.. The space can either be sold off in one lump or in upto 4 slots.
So if anyone wants to use part of my site for their own self promotion then get in touch

Might be an idea to stick a link up showing your traffic, and stats for browsers…
A pricing breakdown and ad type breakdown would be good too. Give a a shout after that…
(Just to clear up the last point, if someone comes along and bids 50k for the single ad, that’s gonna annoy a lot of people. Could you state definitively which it’ll be, or is it highest bidder chooses?)

just curious - why not move to a forum and maybe like Quads u believe in charging but
Your in SEO and place an ad on your site who will want to advertise! (i mean quality versus interest) I can think of a few comps but is it really worth it it
Sell off some spots if you think its worth it but are times really that hard
Your blog is popular down to you at the end of the day, next (and I know he is a friend) you will be printing t shirts
So either have a blog or charge for a forum
But at best dont throw some crappy ads up if not £ necessary
Personaly I dont think it makes any real sense but hey its not my site
Dave I can do your members area, I have two spare licenses for amember (you are welcome to one for free). Me thinks you wouldn’t have trouble putitng up a tip a week for $5 a month. All PayPal automated…
