My Google account is showing someone elses Adsense account

12.08.08

This totally freaked me out today, I was signed into my Gmail account and was going to check the adsense test we had been running, which isn’t connected to my Gmail account so I normally have to logout and sign in has Becky my wife ( it’s her account lol ), but to my surprise and of course total excitement my Google account entered straight into adsense.. even more excitement when it WAS NOT MY Account !!!

Not sure what to do really, they have only made $8, haha but I can edit he payee details lol

Well since he hasn’t made a $100 yet (guessing) he’s not going to be getting to raged any time soon about the money.

This is more than a little disturbing. That Google Account login gadget is responsible for so many people’s most private data, let alone money in the bank like DaveN now has lol. All the more reason to diversify your private data between smaller, separated services.

That actually happened to me as well circa 8 months ago. It was somebody’s Gmail/iGoogle account. I looked him up and he was an orthodonist from Florida. Family man. The whole nine.

I thought about contacting him and informing him of this weird screw-up, but instead I did what any decent human being should do. I logged out of his account and went on with my day.

But yeah, it can give a guy the chills to know how easily or data and privacy can be compromised.
