Mismatched Size 9 Argyle Socks in Downtown Peoria
looks like someone is all upset with the SEO industry well conferences,
with quotes like :
For those unaware, one of the perks of being a conference speaker is getting free conference passes. However, the dirty little secret that no one talks about is that for some of the older conferences, if you’ve been around long enough, you also get your travel expenses comp’d. That’s a pretty good deal compared to everyone else who’s shelling out between $3,000 – $5,000 in travel expenses and registration fees to hear you dispense your pearls of wisdom.
I have been around the Conference circuit to know :
a) Yes I can get a FREE comp ( I have used that maybe 3 times, Once for Dan Horton and Twice of my Wife )
b) I pay for my own Flights : New York SES is Costing me £953.20 GBP in fact I have never had my Travelling Costs picked up, even when I spoke at WMW, SES, SMX
the exact same presentation you gave at the last SES, SMX, Pubcon, Ad:Tech, or Affiliate Summit.
I don’t actually do Presentations very often but I do understand if you went to every conference out there you will see Dupes, it’s impossible to do a new Presentation for every show ( which are like every 2 weeks at the moment lol )
What’s worse is they couldn’t rank a new site for anything more competitive than “Mismatched Size 9 Argyle Socks in Downtown Peoria” if their lives
I tend to work with new start ups and large Corporations they both seem happy and both rank well.
Well fans that brings this post a close. Hopefully we didn’t bruise too many egos, and if we did, you can use your cushy expense account to soften the blow. Feel free to drop a comment and let me know what you think, and don’t forget to send your suggestions or tips to [email protected]
didn’t Bruise my ego, but your tagline say’s
“A look inside the dark secrets of the search engine marketing world” which you haven’t dished any out you have just taken pot shots at Danny so far, so can we have some Secrets please ..

The real secret –what you and scores of others deep in the industry know– Dave, is that sessions are for suckers; for those who will not seek it out for themselves, but want it conveniently wrapped in cellophane and dispensed. (cellophane = inside joke.) In reality, it’s only the gathering, the critical mass of knowledge, that counts. And that doesn’t have to happen in a session.

Surely that’s the same with all industries where you see the same person be it a speaker, or a presenter or an entertainer. If you follow them around on their tour of conferences/gigs then you’ll see the same things.
Stop being a conference whore and choose just one you want to attend, then you can’t moan you’ve seen the same speakers time after time.
