Lunar Caravans lets domain drop
I know it’s not a SEO’s responsibility to ensure that a client makes sure that the domains are kept up to date, but it’s one thing I keep an eye on for my clients and my competitors lol…
We are the design and build team behind http://www.elddis.co.uk/ so when Lunar Caravan’s domain dropped it did make me giggle a little
There are normally a couple of reasons why this sort of thing happens and someone needs to be checking the status of corporate domains regularly. Often domains are registered and looked after by the company itself, but when people change jobs or leave the company the domains can be forgotten and lapse. Alternatively the domains could be registered through an ISP (like us) but if the ISP goes bust, so does the renewals and the domains are lost. The easiest thing to check and keep a track of is the admin contact email address on the .com, if that stops working the domain could expire without you getting notification.

http://www.andrewblackburn.co.ukHow hard was it to resist buying the domain and 301ing to Elddis.co.uk?

@andy .. lol I think that would have gotten me into trouble

http://www.andrewblackburn.co.ukTrouble, schmubble… I would have bought it, 301d it, and then explained how to get everything back, by changing their SEO agency…
That’s the problem with domains, they’re there to be mineswept if not looked after, just like a pint in a pub full of pikey children!

Their site is back on it now, so it seems its back under their control (although still showing as expiring 2nd April 2010).

I’m wondering if the whole point of this thread was a bit of competitive sabotage. Put a completely unrelated result in the top 10 for a brand search for Lunar Caravans
