Looking for a VW Split Screen at Vanfest
We are on the look out for a well maintained VW Split Screen for Dave after seven years of wanting one. I think it finally came to the crunch when Dave sat in one at Newby Hall yesterday (awesome pictures to follow).
Only Air Cooled, The Samba, and eBay – these seem to be the best places to look online for VW Splitties. However if you happen to know of any well maintained ones please let us know! So Dave can arranging viewings…
We are also intending to visit the VW Festival in Leeds on 15th and 16th of August for a day and Vanfest which is situated in Malvern on 11/12/13th of September to view any for sale there, if Dave hasn’t found one by then. If he has who knows maybe he’ll take Becky, Ethan and Miles camping for the weekend at Vanfest
with some of the other local dubbers. There really is fun for all family members regardless of age or background. As long as you can cope with the mud, shared showers, toilets and lots of beer..
I wasn’t aware of Daves passion for Split Screen campers until a few months ago – got into a conversation about the fact that my Mum owns the one pictured below and that we visit many of the VW Events in South West such as Plymfest, Run to the Sun and the Cornwall Jamboree.

Anyway, I will be extremely jealous when Dave gets one and if you happen to spot a good one for sale do let us know!

http://twitter.com/LordManleyI have a 1964 Type 2 (11 window splitty) which I bought in 1991.
It is called Jessica, because that is the noise it makes when going up hills.
