My first SEO conference and what a rewarding experience. It’s kind of like having an extended family of people who really know the industry. Ok, slight embarrassment on the Women in SEO post as the realisation occurred that I was out numbered. (SEO Chicks Gillian, Jane)
DaveN was not backward in introducing me to the folk “in the know”. These people all had one thing in common and that was their level of SEO experience and dedication to sharing valuable information.
Danny Sullivan (Extreme doughnut eater and provider) and Chris Sherman insured the smooth running of an event that is sure to rise in popularity.
I came away from the conference realising just how much effort everyone in the SEO community puts in and shed loads of ideas for new ventures. The main thing I brought away (apart from the hotel soap and shampoo) was that Google is not the only search engine out there. Microsoft Live Search are doing their best to make sure they are on the ball with search and their feature set is becoming more extensive on an almost daily basis.

Yeah, it was my first time at an seo conference as well and I enjoyed it a lot.
I didn’t really know anybody when I got there but I met some nice people there.
It’s kind of strange to meet a whole bunch of seo people as for me it’s not the norm, finally I could talk to somebody about SEO rather than just reading about it.
Pleasure to meet you Dan! Aways nice to put a face to a blogger, even if the face looked a little jaded given the night out you had with DaveN before Day 1 of the conference!
Yup, my first time at a purely SEO event and i loved it. A few to many drinks but hey! Good to meet both you Dan and Dave. Im seriously thinking about heading to vegas now!
Another good even, looking forward to SES London next, need to get Christmas out of the way now. Also good to see you there.
I’m glad so many other people enjoyed SMX London as much as I did… it was a great week!
Great to meet up with loads of new people and some old friends.
I have finally arrived back home from my week in London.
