Yet more link bait this week ? Throughout the course of the last week we have been picking up on stories which may be true or false. This one is “Liz Taylor Murdered” and seems to have been started by E-mail spammers as if it has come from msnbc.com news. The breaking news headline claims that Elizabeth Taylor has been found murdered in her home. Similar emails were seen last week entitled CNN news. The ploy looks to be to gain clicks to the source website. The question is who thought of the Liz Taylor Murdered idea? Once again we puzzle over the spreading of such stories on the net and ask what if anything the major search engines can do about it ?

A very dirty way of spamming.
I hope they get in jail for this.
Quite a few computers may be infected, anyone has heard of any figures?

There’s an email spam campaign going the rounds for more than the last month with titles in this format:
$celebrity_name found dead $fake_circumstances
Open the email to install the virus.
Or just delete and ignore.
.
The various “CNN Alerts” and “CNN Top Ten” emails also contain malware.

If you look into some of these Google results you will see that some “webmasters” are actually spreading his spam link. Unbelievable. Anyhow, he has created a false buzz and probably sits and laughs…
Another reaction I’ve heard on this… You’ll split your sides, guys: Mrs Taylor is behind all this, i.e. spreading the false news to make the world speak about her again. This is what the London “backgrounds” talk.
