25.07.07

I saw this today and to been honest I was quite surprised,

search Google for Search

live.com search

and Also try Search Engine

search engine

Ok most in the in Search Engine industry will know why this happen, but do you think these results are Good or Bad.

I like how google has indexed live search subdomain (search.live.com) but when you got to it redirects to http://www.live.com.

I wonder if live.com is ranking well because of the keyword “search” in the subdomain ….

I guess the fact that you are searching for search in Google already shows who is boss!

    lol @ Pete

I would think google would make themselves number 1 like Yahoo does:

Looks like Google giving itself a -30
Googlebot knows it stuff, only if Googlers would listen…

This is a huge mishap with Google right now and the ways that they deal with 302 redirects. Quite disturbing.

When you say most in the industry would know why - is that because of windows Vista auto instalation of their search engine?

Personally, I don’t know how this occurs and would find an explanation useful. Given Google’s liking for anchor text, is relevant anchor text on authoritative MS site pages a major factor?

[...] Don’t look now, but Microsoft is surging. Even Google says Live Search is #1. This week Microsoft, with a little help from Ask, seemingly led the charge for privacy protection. [...]

I think the most disturbing thing is the myspace URLs ranking high for “search”:

    search.myspace.com/index.cfm

    musicsearch.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=music.search
