as a Leeds Fan I’m gutted for McAllister, I supported him when he was a player and when he became manager I knew exactly what he was bringing to the table. Macca was going to try and bring back football to Elland Road, but after the Histon game Macca and the boys had a really big Job on their hands.
FANS should look at the players on the pitch, AS A TEAM WE CAN BEAT ANYONE but when we have players that play for themselves and not the team we are doomed, but what surprises me, and it shouldn’t knowing that Bates is pulling the strings, is the bloody timing, right before the transfer window opens, by the time we get a new manager and backroom staff and they can identify the issues in the team the window will have closed and we will be stuck in this league another year!

its a shame he wasn’t given more time. I imagine that the situation will be like blackburn and bates will have a manager to come in straight away.
by the way enjoyed your talks at chicago ses.

Who knows? – everyone knows we play best when we’re up against it – we’ve never done anything the easy way – let’s hope it kicks in soon

Clubs should have the courage of their convictions and stick by their managers. Blackburn board would have been more than happy to take the praise for appointing a young British manager if it had paid off with Ince so they should also have the bollocks to stand by him.
If there’s is one thing that this tells you it is that football chairmen, by and large, need to brush up on there interviewing techniques to get the right man for the job in the first place.

The people who have the most sway in deciding a manager’s fate are the fans – who, despite all the guff about the wisdom of crowds know virtually nothing except what they hear on TalkSport.
After that, it’s the chairman – who is normally self-serving, somehow incognisant of the fact that they hired the f’ing manager in the first place and knows even less about football than the fans.
I saw some study somewhere that revealed the fact that the impact of a new manager statistically lasts 8 games before the team reverts to prior form. It took Clough *years* to build his great teams. It’s hard to imagine anyone getting that amount of time now.
Still – marching on together and all that, eh?

I support Coventry City and was disappointed when Gary McAllister left us due to family issues/circumstances. I always thought he would be a good manager and get us back to the Premiership.
The duration given to new managers though in the English game now is ridiculous, club boards seem to want instant results. I’ve no doubt in my mind though that Leeds will appoint a well reputed replacement manager and will eventually get promoted from that league.

Who’d a thunk it? Leeds appoint a Ripon lad as manager! You must be chuffed at that Dave?
Was a pity about Macca, great player and a good guy by all accounts, but as with SEO its all about results. Looks like ‘Larry’ has injected a freshness boost into the team, two games and four points that I couldn’t see us getting under Macca. on and on.

Yeh he was a decent player Dave, i think he should have been given a bit longer but thats the game these days!
Being a manc RED i just love whats going on a Leeds
