Microsoft Internet Explorer is flawed. STOP USING MICROSOFT INTERNET EXPLORER NOW.  Microsoft are apparently investigating a security loophole in IE7 and preparing an emergency patch to fix the problem.

The world’s most popular web browser could literally let others take control of your PC and indeed steal confidential information from you.  Concerned ? Well, I think we should be as it appears the security flaw isn’t just relevant to Internet Explorer 7 but may affect previous versions of explorer too.

Not to worry though only 10,000 websites have been susceptible  since last week by those taking advantage of the flaw in IE…. How could such a major distribution go so wrong? The US Computer emergency readiness team have issued a vulnerability note.

The flaw was initially though to be down to an error in parsing XML code but data binding memory corruption vulnerability now seems to be the culprit so disabling active scripting may be a workaround.

Microsoft say: “We are actively investigating the vulnerability that these attacks attempt to exploit”
