Wow. Nice to see this offer. Though I am new to SEO, I will give it a shot.

I have a few ideas for now:

    1) How to outsource/manage boring SEO tasks at extremely cheap rates
    2) Getting some shady links from .edu but can probably keep them look genuine
    3) Marketing on StumbleUpon
    4) Some errors in a few famous SEO tools

Hoping for a positive response Dan.

    Thanks

So tell us Dan, how has this blog helped YOU to become famous? :)

  3. 3. Dan Horton SEO | November 5th 2008 @ 12:48 pm

Thanks Affan and great question Joost. In answer to that question it has given me the chance to speak to people within the search industry that I only before dreamed was possible. Iv’e also interviewed some amazing people too.

It’s also surprising throughout the industry how people recognise my name, purely through working with DaveN and the experience and knowledge he imparts.
Famous? No, modest i’d prefer :)

    Hi there,

I am willing to contribute to this fine blog. I have quite a few years experience working as an SEO clientside… This can be a real struggle to actually implement work without justifying the costs and revenue potential. I’ve turned into an expert at this and I feel many technically savvy agency SEOs lack the business acumen required to push forward decisions while working clientside in a big business environment.

Just leave a comment on my blog or email me if you are interested in an article. Thanks

Within a week of my first post on this blog I had received a marriage proposal from Paris Hilton and three offers to star in major films. I’m holding out for Diana Vickers and a role in Ed Burns’ next TV show though.

Actually that’s rubbish, all I got was a lot of people referring to my posts with “DaveN said…” :D

  8. 8. Shark SEO | November 5th 2008 @ 3:27 pm

I’d quite like to write a guest post actually, I read Dave’s blog all the time and it’d be quite nice to add something. I’ve been toying with a blog post about using SEO for reputation management - controlling the front page of results on behalf of a client, if you guys are interested? It’s mainly focused on link reclamation. I was going to put it on my site but I reckon it’s more up your street, I don’t want my blog to be too white hat :/

I have written guest post for a handful of blogs, including some A-listers. I would love the opportunity to write here as well. I am nearing completion of my first social media search tool, so social media would be a good topic for me. Although I have just finished working a year and half in Real Estate SEO, so thats right up my ally as well.

Actually, wait - no! I just remembered one that’s more interesting than that. I’ve got one in the back of my mind about building a community with your site. The themes are user-generated content, using things like Twitter and the best way to target niche forums. If you like the sound of it, drop me a line.

Re: The humble life and busy times of a SEO, Ben McKay, working-hard to become a SUPERSTAR SEO!

    Hi Dan,

If it were me writing a guest blog post, it would take a very humble angle.

I would take people through the process of effective (and ineffective ways) to raise their profile. I feel I am only 25% there, so would be making some projections too of where I need to direct my efforts.

Having built the odd association with prominent SEO’s online, I am getting making headway, but where next…find out in the next instalment of: The humble life and busy times of a SEO, Ben McKay, working-hard to become a SUPERSTAR SEO!

Not simply a page long plug, or bio, but an honest account of SEO-life, decisions made, bad ones taken, goodies and even more baddies of being an in-house and freelance SEO working to become a famous SEO overnight…(managing my expectations a bit, I’m giving myself another year!)

…if not this year, I’ll ‘apply’ again next year.

    Cheers Dan,

    Ben

Favourite joke ever (have I already told you this one)……Two fish are in a tank. One says to the other: you man the guns I’ll drive! Haha!

That’s an interesting idea Dan. I would be willing to contribute if you’re still looking for some people for that. My specialization is in finding/developing new, innovative ways to approach SEO and forecasting how the industry will change.

If you want an example, you can take a look at a recent article here

  14. 14. John Wesley | November 5th 2008 @ 10:50 pm

I’d like to contribute a post on how the search environment is changing. The use of SEO as a business model is becoming irrelevant as Google and large companies squeeze small websites out of search results.

  15. 15. aukseo | November 5th 2008 @ 11:43 pm

    Hi,

I’d like to do a blog about the site operand.

It’s the best SEO tool there is but not many people seem to talk about it.

It would be good to go over the best uses for it with some real examples.

    Cheers

    Hi Dan,

Nice to see you guys opening up the blog for some guest posts, I’m pretty sure that it will be interesting and informative to say the least.

I have one or two posts that I have been working on for a while, but they still need a major amount of shining up and such.

The first one I’d like to get sorted is a Cheap multi-lingual SEO research method for those guys needing to seo multilingual sites but don’t necessarily speak the language.

    Hello,

I have experience in marketing, advertising, video, and SEM. I would be interested in throwing my hat into the ring and seeing what if any help it provides anyone… anywhere.

If I were to write a post right now it would be called “How to bend Google Analytics to do your bidding A.K.A. New Beta Features for Analytics and How To Use Them”

    Thanks
