Google on a Cloud
The offline support introduced by Google for Gmail is most welcome in my eyes. Google have responded to multiple requests for offline support and you can now test it for yourself after downloading Google Gears. Its thought the ability to use Google Calendar offline will be coming shortly too.
The feature enables access to Gmail as an when the online connection is lost using the hard drive instead. Does this mean that Google will be able to steal Microsoft’s and Yahoo’s thunder in the Cloud arena ?
Personally, I think it shows the extent to just how flexible Google is prepared to be by pushing what is likely to beĀ an extensive set of desktop applications we can all use. Google OS here we come….

Next on their list should be an app for Windows Mobile, enabling you to quickly search through your Gmail account even when there is no connection (or very slow) connection available.
