Hey come on, we have been waiting all day for the new source web browser Google Chrome. Where is the Google Chrome Download ? Matt Cutts talked about this on his blog only yesterday and I can’t wait for the feedback on this. Already its pending release has caused rants from the “too many web browsers” already brigade. How private is this browser going to be we wonder ? What info if any will be fed back to the mighty G ?
Personally I love open source products. Matt is using Chrome already so it must be pretty good?

what gets me is this seem more likely to end Firefox than IE, V8 engine scares the shit out of me, Google past security hasn’t been awesome and I won’t be installing it on any office system any time soon, Google claim to convert JavaScript through V8 to machine code… Hmmm I can’t see how the Bad People in this world will abuse it, but apparently there is already a 25,000 USD prize in a certain forum for the first injection POC… shake heads slowly I hope google have this secure

Good points Dave, privacy is on everyone’s mind while on the Internet (or at least on mine).
The “What happens in this tab, stays in this tab” sounds cool as I prefer to surf anonymously. I do wonder about the security of the information that is kept to provide inline suggestions though.

Its available
Its VERY quick
Just watched the web cast and downloaded it early.
I normally run an optimised version of firefox 3.x
Here are my results
Sunspider JS test
Chrome: 2610.0ms
FF3: 4187.4msAcid test:
Chrome: 79
FF3: 71Rendering speed
Tables
chrome: 239ms
ff3: 1194mscss
chrome: 217ms
ff3: 432msAs you can see VERY quick. Feels quick, works well. However my dell touchpad isn’t working very well. It scrolls pages at the speed of light which isn’t good - i’ll see if i can fix.
Time will tell on how well it copes with memory.

I have installed Google Chrome and found browsing fun with its simple Gtalk like Simplicity. I’ll stick with FireFox for now until Chrome gets some useful plugins to enhance it.

I believe the google installer places the full install into:
C:\documents and settings\\local settings\application data\google\chrome\application.2.149.27
In that directory you’ll see “Installer”

They are missing a large portion of their ‘new’ audience - by not having an offline stand-alone installer version. Most of the business world cannot affect change to their firewalls. Therefore, IT types will have to wait until a safe standalone version is posted somewhere. WTG G! Silly G.
Am I wrong? If so - URL to the offline install please?

i dont know what’s the dumb ass who braught the idea of not having a full offline stand alone ..i know that yahoo messenger started it ,but why ?? what do they lose if they put a link for a full offline installer ??

Download offline installer for Google Chrome
After the release of google chrome, it is available as a download link to small file called ChromeSetup.exe which is of 474kb size approx.
ChromeSetup.exe which then download and install chrome on your machine provided you have internet connectivity.
But, when you don’t have internet connectivity on a system on which you want to install google chrome then you should download offline installer for google chrome which is around 7.35 MB approx.
Download Full Standalone Offline Installer for google chrome :
