Google Analytics keeps an Eyebox2 out offline

Imagine a device that could track your eye movement above half a meter.. in fact how about 10 meters?
Eyebox2 is your answer.

It allows advertisers to track which products are the focus on people’s eyes when they are stood infront of it. Pretty cool, so you could be looking at a plasma screen, advertising poster anything and the funky little device will track your eye movements.
This is a gadget I kinda like I have to say..First shown at a Google presentation and developed by Xuuk.

The Eyebox2 technology works by an effect in flash flash photography that people normally try to eliminate - “red eye” . Using the red eye effect the software can literally create an eye and track itsĀ  movement.

So this is like Google analytics but offline, tracking the advertisers success in product placement and what people look at when viewing adverts.

Cant you link it to your analytics accout so that it generates some nice heatmaps?
No, honestly. Eyetracking data from every visitor would be cool. But from the different perspective (yout eyes beeing tracking aswell) it would be kinda scary.

Considering that they’re working together with Google you wouldn’t think that … their website would be filled with text as graphics (?!). You’ll outrank them in no time, lol.

John thanks for pointing that out,,,I see what you mean hmm doesn’t inspire confidence really, perhaps just pointing to a distibutors accomplished web site would have been more appropriate?

Wow, image eye mapping everyone on your website. That data would be priceless. Maybe Dell should get on board and make it a standard feature in all their new screens! ;-) Scary if it ever comes to that though.
