Gmail is one of my favourite mail systems. Why ? Well, I guess it true I never really delete anything and the storage capacity is huge. However, the outage I experienced yesterday was also huge: “We’re sorry, but your [Gmail]* account is currently experiencing errors. You won’t be able to use your account while these errors last, but don’t worry, your account data and messages are safe. Our engineers are working to resolve this issue.”
Temporary error 502
Google have had engineers working on the system to pinpoint the 502 errors. Was everyone affected or was it simply a subset of users ? I love the capacity and indeed functionality that Gmail offers but I guess the level of dependence I have put on the mail system is too high, I expect it there when I need it 24/7
Come on Google why was Gmail Down ?

Mine was down yesterday, but only for a few mins. I was using it at the time, popping in and out, refreshed it and the error message came up. First one I have recieved in all the time I have been using it. It is such a good email system. Love it.

Mine was down, and today it’s missing a few emails from the last 3-4 days (not figured out if my Diamond deleted them though)

Google Finance has been acting up today, and my gmail was down as well yesterday. Throw in the AdWords weirdness you experienced and Google’s got quite the cold.

Same error here in Tulsa, OK
Mine was down in July and then again yesterday:
I have several ALL had the error. It only lasted for several hours.
I love g-mail would not choose any other service that is out there.
I rather not like the idea of questioning G-mails security.
But it seems fishy.
It would be nice it we could send a comment on it and where we are located to Google-like there on the error page.12th August 2008 @ 20:24

Over the last several days I have consistently been getting error message 502 when trying to access Google Finance. Google Finance seems like a flop. Yahoo Finance was far more reliable.

I’ve had the dreaded error 502 for the past day. And they offer no explanation as to why it’s happening. If they are working on the server or it is damaged, they should at least let you know.
Google sucks ass.

We have been experiencing problems for over a week now. The mail has been up and down, more often down. The latest problem is that I am unable to forward any images - just text. Something really major has gone wrong. Why not post an explanation instead of these silly irrelevant automated messages?

Google Apps for business was also affected we had no access to our business emails for a long time.
Although I could still ‘pop’ the emails to my phone which was weird.
