I agree. Especially with your last comment: if he were to charge $5000 per month per link it would be a different story.
And, as Boser noted, he has not even applied a link condom to the links…

I think this is cool. It’s JZ’s private personal webpage he can do what the hey he likes with it. It’s up to the SE’s to try and beat this, if that’s what they decide to do, NOT people to stop doing it (which is what they hope they’ll bully them into). Will be interesting to see what happens.

Jeremy obviously doesn’t play by the rules and he knew what he was doing. I don’t have a huge problem with it, but then again I am an SEO/webmaster. If I were Tim Mayer, or a Yahoo search engineer, preaching that selling links is bad, I would be pretty pissed. It is a direct contradiction on his companies stance on the issue.
Yeah, it is his own personal blog, but let’s be honest. If Jeremy worked for an obscure software company, nobody would really care. His blog has the following it does because he is a Yahoo employee.
