Crocs Shoes
I just don’t get it, what is it with Crocs Shoes I live in a small city ( market town really ) and a shop has just started selling Crocs.
then I notice that Heater Hopkins over at Hitwise, just posted up that Crocs “have taken the #1 spot as the most searched for fashion item.” What these are the kinds of shoe the poor kids at my school used to where (well we called them Jelly Wellies ). Heather goes on to show

the most popular styles are “disney crocs”, “cayman crocs”, “mary jane crocs” and “athens crocs“.

http://www.seo-scoop.comI was wondering the same thing a couple of months ago. I live in a really small town, so any time a new sign goes up on the side of a road, it’s obvious. I noticed the local health aid store (you know, sells wheelchairs, etc. and is located next to the medical center) had a new sign on the road saying “we sell disney crocs”. I had no idea what a croc was, nor especially a disney croc, but I was imagining in my head the crocodile from Peter Pan.
As soon as I got home, I searched for “disney croc” and realized it was one of those ugly shoes I see so many people wearing. I then did the whole SEO thing and realized that this was a “big thing” on the net. Weird.

http://www.hopkins.ccDave, Thanks for picking up on that (and for agreeing with my fashion sense!)
I’ll still be blogging away whilst in Tokyo and covering the UK market. And, of course I’ll keep reading your blog!

http://www.digitalbricklayer.com/blog/Teachers in the 70′s always seemed to wear shoes like that. That’s enough for me to struggle to think of them as fashion accessories.
Dave, I didn’t know you were from ’round ‘ere. I am in Otley, another small market town in Yorkshire.
I didn’t know Ripon was a city. though I guess you guys do have a nice cathedral.

http://www.JenSense.comI have a pair, they are so comfy! My daughter has a pair and looooves them. I think it does look funny when you see someone my age wearing a bright orange or yellow pair tho! They were the big thing over here last summer, I guess it took that long for you guys in the UK to catch on to it

http://www.thevanblog.comDave, out here in Colorado Crocs have been very popular for a few years now. I’ve never worn a pair myself, but everyone I know who has insists they’re the most comfortable thing they’ve ever worn on their feet.

http://www.eyefall.co.uk/blog/These things were everywhere when I was in Sydney in January – I just don’t get it – I had these when I was about 5 and hated them then!

KimI think the people that dont like them either need to give them a chance and realise how comfy they are or enter into the fun a bit, i realise the cayman and the beach crocs are a bit out there when it comes to style but why not have fun when it comes to foot wear!

I seem to remember in the 80′s laughing at pictures of parents in flared jeans they were wearing back in the 70′s and hey presto we all seem to wear the boot flare now, not to mention low waist jeans showing all your arse or G string. Bring back Scholls thats what I say and after sampling my friends crocs, after being on my feet all day at work I was hooked and deciding which colour to opt for

I’m sorry I just don’t get the appeal of these. They look like shoes that surgical staff should be wearing while in theatre not out on the street. They look so stupid. Why on earth would anyone pay good money for them. What an excellent example of lack of fashion sense.
Sorry I just don’t understand.

http://widoweb.wordpress.comThe first time I see them it was in my small town (10.000 citizens) and I was walking down the street and I saw some young canadian tourists with those strange shoes. I laughed a lot.
Two months later, all my friends wore them. I stopped laughing.

http://www.holeysoles.comCheck out the company Holey Soles for an innovation that addresses the slippery sole of foam shoes. The new patent pending slip resisitant feature is called Sole-tek thermo rubber which increases stability, durability and long life. Holey Soles has been around since 2002 and is gaining in popularity with this innovative technology that is making the light weight foam clog a safer and longer lasting product.
Visit the website and you will see this improvement on the new products available. Coming soon this fall the explorer2 with Sole-tek.
The new Thermo Rubber (TR) sole is fused with state of the art technology, using a 15 step application process. The resulting bond is even stronger than the foam itself so there is no chance that the TR & the foam will separate. This new hard rubber sole application provides improved grip and protection against rocks and sharp objects.
