Google Webmasters Flaw Allows You To Remove Any URL From Their Index

by

Sounds crazy? It’s Matt Cutts worst nightmare…

The story was reported by James Breckenridge on his blog (which is brand spanking new, I guess he wanted to get some link juice out of this)!!!!

Basically you access Webmasters Tools and use the following URL:

https://www.google.com/webmasters/tools/removals-request?hl=en&siteUrl=http://{YOUR_URL}/&urlt={URL_TO_BLOCK}

So we thought we’d give it a try with Alex’s bingo site (http://bingoplayuk.com/) – Alex has kindly given me permission to do this.

Here’s the URL we’re going to use:

https://www.google.com/webmasters/tools/removals-request?hl=en&siteUrl=http://www.bronco.co.uk/&urlt=http://bingoplayuk.com/

Google Farm Businesses Out of Google Plus

by

Google have today revealed that they are hot on the trail of businesses that are looking to create profiles within the Google+ social networking site, speaking out in a post on the platform to inform the public that they are looking to prevent businesses for joining the site through the incorrect methods.

Since the news that Google+ has hit the internet, flocks of individuals, companies and partnerships have looked to create accounts in which to be able to market their products to the increasing number of Google+ users that are creating accounts on a daily basis.

Gmail Getting A Facelift

by

With the user interface of Google search engines been handed a new design to make the site ‘pretty’, it seems that Google are now looking to clean up the look of their email client, Gmail.

After logging into my account this morning I was greeted by a link within the top right hand side of my inbox, telling me that I can preview the new Gmail look, the latest in the site’s redevelopment project I guess.

Naturally I opted to follow the teasing offer of a sneaky look at the new design, being drawn into the promise of a new revelation that is going to leave me with my jaw on the floor and excitement pumping through my veins.

Kiss Goodbye To Privacy – Google To Take It Away 31st July

by

Online giants Google have revealed that they are set to remove all private accounts within their new Google Plus social networking platform following a review of the current accounts showed that a number of users were limiting the exposure of their accounts online.

Last week Google announced the release of their Twitter and Facebook alternative ‘Google Plus’, sparking a rush of online users to sign up to the platform in a bid to get a glimpse of the latest addition to the Google brand but it seems that many of those users were looking to keep the majority of their information private from those who were not associated with them, a move that Google have revealed is not in the spirit of the use of the Google Plus site.

Google Release New Spam Bot In Form Of Google Plus

by

There has been a huge amount of hype surrounding the release of Google Plus, a social networking addition to their already robust portfolio and the main reasoning behind the Google +1 buttons that have begun to be implemented across search engine results pages and websites across the globe.

Well with so much anticipation to see exactly what Google have been able to create, once given the chance to sample the experience that many are yet to learn of but within minutes of access, the first problem has already raised its ugly head.

Google Webmaster Tools & Google Analytics Integration

by

Near the beginning of June I signed up for the Google Webmaster Tools and Google Analytics integration pilot. Today I got an email telling me I could now integrate Google Webmaster Tools into my Analytics, so I thought I would share with you some of the features.

Setting It Up
Setting up was relatively straightforward, I just followed the instructions they sent me in the email. Basically you sign into the new version of Google Analytics and go to the Traffic Sources section, here you will see this:

I’ve Travelled The World From My Desk

by

Well I have spent the last few hours travelling around the globe, no suitcase needed and no passport in sight, instead this journey was taken from my office desk and I have to say that I found the experience one that I would happily take again.

I have been approached to be a tester for the latest release of GeoSurf v3, an online virtual private network (VPN) and I’m pleased to say that like many of the VPN’s that I have used before, this one actually delivers what I was looking for, the ability to move about the world so that I could perform localised searches from the countries that I chose.
