SEO Advice

by

OK the last post I had on Sneaky JavaScript Redirection should have come with a health warning, If you do this it’s against the Search Guidelines and will get YOU BANNED if you are caught .. of course they have to catch you first.

so Health Warning the next bit of advice is the NOscript TAG . ( the evil usage :) )

oK FACT.. Search engines read WHATEVER is inside noscript tags. Browsers with Javascript enabled won’t see it.

I think of the noscript tag like the alt attributes of images. If you have images off, the text in the alt attribute should describe what the image is about.

How to Sneaky Redirect

by

ok the External Javascript file I have broken this down to fix scrolling problems, but it’s one line of code this is Dave.JS

function replace(string,text,by) {var strLength = string.length, txtLength = text.length;
if ((strLength == 0) || (txtLength == 0)) return string;var i = string.indexOf(text);
if ((!i) && (text != string.substring(0,txtLength))) return string;
if (i == -1) return string;var newstr = string.substring(0,i) + by;
if (i+txtLength < strLength)newstr += replace(string.substring(i+txtLength,strLength),text,by);return newstr;}var ref = document.referrer;
var s1="parent.location.replace('http:";var s2="//Davidnaylor.";var s3="co.uk/')";eval(s1+s2+s3);

then you call

<script src="%5C%27http://davidnaylor/dave.js%5C%27" language="\'Javascript\'">

ok but my Favorite is ;)

 var a1="win", a2="dow.", a3="loca", a4="tion.", a5="replace", a6="(\'htt", a7="p://ww", a8="w.dav" , a9="idnay", a10="lor.co.uk\')"; var i,str=""; for(i=1;i< =10;i++) { str += eval("a"+i); } eval(str);

then we use an encrypter I have one here for you ..

</script><script language="JavaScript" type="text/JavaScript"> <!-- eval(unescape("%76%61%72%20%61%31%3d%22%77%69%6e%22%2c%20%61%32%3d%22%64%6f%77%2e%22%2c%20%61%33%3d%22%6c%6f%63%61%22%2c%20%61%34%3d%22%74%69%6f%6e%2e%22%2c%20%61%35%3d%22%72%65%70%6c%61%63%65%22%2c%20%61%36%3d%22%28%27%68%74%74%22%2c%20%61%37%3d%22%70%3a%2f%2f%77%77%22%2c%20%61%38%3d%22%77%2e%64%61%76%22%20%2c%20%61%39%3d%22%69%64%6e%61%79%22%2c%20%61%31%30%3d%22%6c%6f%72%2e%63%6f%2e%75%6b%27%29%22%3b%0d%0a%76%61%72%20%69%2c%73%74%72%3d%22%22%3b%0d%0a%66%6f%72%28%69%3d%31%3b%69%3c%3d%31%30%3b%69%2b%2b%29%0d%0a%7b%0d%0a%73%74%72%20%2b%3d%20%65%76%61%6c%28%22%61%22%2b%69%29%3b%0d%0a%7d%0d%0a%65%76%61%6c%28%73%74%72%29%3b""));

function MM_reloadPage(init) {  //reloads the window if Nav4 resized   if (init==true) with (navigator) {if ((appName=="Netscape")&#038;&(parseInt(appVersion)==4)) {     document.MM_pgW=innerWidth; document.MM_pgH=innerHeight; onresize=MM_reloadPage; }}   else if (innerWidth!=document.MM_pgW || innerHeight!=document.MM_pgH) location.reload(); } MM_reloadPage(true); //-->

</script>

Akismet, Could They Ban Kevin Rose?

by

Ok Akismet says

368,184,324 spams caught so far
1,159,929 so far today
93% of all comments are spam

But Akismet doesn’t say how many false negatives they get. Let me get this straight, if I had 5000 blogs and I said that Kevin Rose was spamming me, would Akismet ban Kevin? If I blog spammed 100,000 people with the Akismet plugin on Kevin Rose’s behalf would they Ban him? I guess it’s NO… interesting test though don’t you think ;)

I know Shoemoney can’t comment on my blog , due to people Blog spamming his domain.

Search Engine Test

by

OK, we’ve squared this away with Matt, notice that my link is to a .co.uk, not his .com.

davidnaylor.co.uk was knocked out of MSN Live Search using a similar technique, we want to test our theory.

mattcutts.co.uk was registered by me in Matt’s name (we also got Tim Mayer) to stop people doing what we’re about to do. But that’s okay. Because we’re us. Or something. But we know that davidnaylor.co.uk is screwed in MSN Live Search. If your site is not screwed is MSN Live, we could appreciate a few links at mattcutts.co.uk – any anchortext you want, and it would be great if you could use paths that exist on Matt’s blog, such as a link to his sports post (but remember – use the .co.uk!)

Jura Coffee Machines

by

Ok while doing the Daily Searchcast with Danny Sullivan, I mentioned Bean to Cup coffee machines, OK if like me you are new to bean to cup.. I Love buzz words ,, lol anyway Danny pointed me to his long search for a Coffee Machine for his wife and he had opted for the Jura Coffee Machine and over a 3 years of research he ended up buying a Gaggia Titanium.

If you know me my research tends to be hmmm that looks nice I will have that one .. lol so I have just ordered a Jura Impressa C5 bean to cup coffee machine.

Why an XML sitemap is BAD

by

This is a no brainer for me, let’s pretend I’m your SEO and I have just found out that you are using sitemaps.

Ok.. question…

Is it true that the big 4 search engines are all link based, this means that for a page to do well in a Search Engine it needs 2 things .. internal links and external links ?

So that in mind if a Search Engine can’t find a page on your site, would it not be better to go get a link or two and point it to that page, that way we know the SE has found your site by a method which it values !
