If you are using PHP 5 scripts on a 1AND1 hosting package, they willl be updating the current PHP version to cover a few security holes and you may have to update your PHP code accordingly to avoid any issues.
This only for those using PHP 5.
so on 7th and 08th December, their current version 5.1.6 will be updated to 5.2.0 on all 1and1 servers.
so can get details of the changes in deployment here http://www.php.net/UPDATE_5_2.txt

I’ll be there at SES Chicago… Speaking on Thursday 7th in the Organic Listings Forum
I’m flying in the day before the conference, so I hope to see you there.
Hopefully it won’t be snowing as much as it was last year!

wow. I was pointing out to a friend which Antivirus software i use, and saw there news section :
A security flaw in Google’s search appliances could expose Websites that use the products to information-stealing phishing attacks, ZDNet UK reports.
The Google Search Appliance and Google Mini are used by organisations including banks and universities to add search features to Websites. A flaw in the way the systems handle certain characters makes it possible to craft a Web link that looks like it points to a trusted site, but when clicked serves up content from a third, potentially malicious site.
a sad day …
As of November 15, 2006 Microsoft will no longer accept new sign-ups for select Microsoft Online Small Business Services.
These services, previously marketed under the bCentral™ brand, include Appointment Manager, Banner Network Ads, Commerce Manager, Customer Manager, FastCounter Pro, List Builder, Sales Leads, SharePoint®, Submit it!, Traffic Builder, and Web Hosting Packages.
I’m not the first to post this or the last I guess, so why a Sad Day..
well I’d always say to client go get your quality directory links from a well-trusted directory and a good place to start is Bcentral and Yahoo. So come on Microsoft open up them doors again please ..
