oopps I guess, Brett didn’t like the cloaking thread and I guess I won’t be asked to speak at Vegas.. Darn it and I’m Forty this year, I guess my Birthday party will have to be else where
So I would like to wish all the Guys, Mods and Admins all the best for the future.. and Brett of course :)
Anyway I get this in most areas ( status: 10:You have reached a private forum or discussion. Please login to view threads in this forum.(daven) ), I know I wasn’t the best mod in the world but an email or a stickymail would have been nice,

yer sucks a little after all the years I was an active Mod and Speaker ( which I also did for free, even if others where getting paid ) you would have thought that at least I got access to supporters area like Brett had said in London, mods get supporters for life.. oh hum. I guess not

To this day with no actual URLs being allowed plus the huge amount of downtime there’s too much noise and crap there for my liking. The search sucks too ;)
Tis a shame really but presumably this means we’ll be seeing more blogs from ex-WMW members which surely isn’t a bad thing! Interesting that a botnet originated from the UK, years ago the drones were all controlled on efnet and mostly sweden & US hosts but I suppose with broadband getting big in the UK and there being plenty of BT + AOL lusers we are an easy target!

I am sure any of the mods that jumped ship from WMW will have enough personal experience to know which out of DaveN or Brett Tabke is most likely to, errmmm, ‘get confused’ in how they recall events.
For my part, I have never had any trouble getting through to DaveN, by phone, e-mail or messenger.

Anyone remember that incident when Brett bought the alternative threadwatch domain to ‘help out’ Nick_W?
Poor Brett got an awful lot of criticism over the way his story of ‘just being helpful’ didn’t seem to stand up to scrutiny, particularly to those who remember the angry words that led to Nick_W leaving WMW.
As I recall, BT claimed to have made repeated attempts to comunicate with Nick over that - very similar problem from the sounds of it.
So much confusion and memory problems - I hope it is just stress or a temporary health issue, ‘cos that alternative would be a pattern of lies and disinformation aimed at those that had left his team.
I’d hate to think that was true.

Would line up pretty well with how the whole SEO outfit’s been run right from the day search engine reps started to get involved in forums, wouldn’t it? (Remember “GoogleGuy” and his clones?)

Wow, is it still news when they ban someone from there? Does Brett live in Austin? I doubt it. The address on WebmasterWorld is a rented mailbox at one of those Mailboxes, etc. type of places. It’s close to where I work. I mentioned this on WebmasterWorld once and Brett sent me a sticky about keeping his personal info private. (I did not reveal any personal info, just that this address was a mailbox, not a physical address.)
