This Rocks, Last night on stikepoint I talked about 103bees and Joost pinged me, about getclicky and I have a new Toy, remember when you first got an adsense account and you could stop logging in to check you stats,well Getclicky has made me do this again but this time it’s spying on people on my site.. YES YOU I can see you .. lol
A few cool points, it collects backlinks info, it shows you exit points.. in fact it just way way cool go see the Demo or sign up for a free account, I promise to do a full review later.

I also really like that it shows the server time in the top-right of the page. Nothing annoys me more in stats packages than when I’m trying to extrapolate figures and I have no idea what my reference time is. It’s clearly been well-thought out all the way through.

Another new one that I have been having fun with is: Reinvigorate. http://reinvigorate.net/. I signed up for the beta test after reading about it and seeing screenshots on Ian Kennedy’s Blog: http://cavitate.net/flashpoint/2007/02/reinvigoratenet_shiny_new_stats_app.html. Pretty cool stuff.

This is good and addictive stuff from Getclicky. Great and easy interface. Nice cliffhanger too that you can’t go Pro the first two weeks ;-)
If anyone wants to upgrade early, send me an email (from the Clicky contact page) and I’ll set a flag that lets you do that. Just need your assurance that none of your sites have insane traffic levels.
It’s not that we don’t want your money! This just helps deter abuse. We’ve had to deal with our fair share over time…
Oi! Thanks for the share, Dave. The spy feature is incredibly addictive. I like the idea of pulling realtime stats via rss. My only fear is that the DaveN breed of SEO will jack my browser to gain backdoor access to my stats :P…just kidding…kinda…sorta

what kinda abuse, just too much traffic for you to handle ?? ever thought of some kinda of server install, i buy a key that calls home and reports the server ip, you just don’t get my data ??

Yes. We can handle a lot of traffic. Currently tracking several million page views/day from about 7,000 web sites. Every once in a while some guy shows up with the million PV/day site that puts a lot of extra load on us. We’re not currently accepting any sites with more than 50K/day, so we can sustain for a long time. Our service is aimed at the lower traffic sites anyways!
We have had a few requests for self installed version but we’re not planning to do that, it would create too many headaches from a support standpoint. As well as piracy (Yar!) and all that.

I like the spy thing but when compared in conjunction with two other stats programs it seems to be missing some of the hits. I get about 20% less hits than Google Analytics and another third party stats program. Is this due to users with javscript disabled or is there another explanation?
Stu it may due to geography… we are based on the west coast USA, so if you live in another country or have lots of visitors from other countries, we may not get quite as much data from them as we could because of lag and all that. Google has billions of dollars and billions of servers all over the world so that certainly gives them an advantage ;)
What is your other stats program? If it’s a log analyzer (AWStats, Analog, Webalyzer, etc) then the stast will be very different because we don’t log bot activity (search engines and spammers)
