Google testing Again

Mike Grehan reminded me today about this.
While I was in San Jose one of the guys in the office sent me this :

While San Jose

today after flushing my cookies I get this :

back in England

ok two things .. look at the Adwords on the first image ..( better images on my flickr account) they are really off target?? aren’t they

ok so google are testing a “did you mean:” this search but putting them in the middle of the serps, the “Dissatisfied? See results for:” are acutally pulling the top 3 or 4 from that keyword serp.. good or bad ?

I’m not suprised at the poor quality of AdSense ads, its not like “tokenizer” is a hotly contested keyword that they have lots of inventory for.

I think I like the “Dissatisfied?” being down in the SERPs. It makes sense, you start looking at some of the results, you think “that’s not what I wanted”, so you are ready for a good suggestion from Google.

Just curious about your blog, although I know I may be off topic here but according to your about section:

David’s main motivation is that he believes that there is no point having a site if it doesn’t rank No 1.

Which is a great philosophy however given this SERP should I conclude there’s no point in this site? :o)

All in good fun…but still a valid question.
