Thanks for sharing Dave. Good to know that even if things don’t turn out quite how you want they can still come up smelling of roses.

    For my own part:

I wanted a job that wouldn’t mean wearing a tie and sitting in an office all day – I’m sitting in the office typing this while wearing a tie (but I’m working on it)

I wanted to find a career that I would enjoy and be passionate about – hmm, maybe not on the tie-wearing office days, but again I’m treating that as practice for the next big thing and a work in progress at this stage

I wanted to find advice on how to turn my hobby into a career, so that I would never have to truly “work” another day in my life – thanks to people like you and the many other brilliant SEO bloggers out there I think I finally have

Absolute Power! Seriously though, I got everything I wanted before I knew what was really important. Now I want to make as much as I can with as little time spent as possible.

I wanted to be a rum-drunk writer in the Caribbean. Then I grew up a little. Now I want to be an off-grid, organic farmer in Oregon. But instead I’m an SEO in Denver. Here’s to keeping your dreams alive… :-)

I wanted to live life like a rockstar. Sex, Drugs and Rock N Roll. Instead I am sat behind 3 monitors analysing competitor backlinks.

I wanted to work from home to work for myself. I now work from home; working for clients.

I wanted to freelance for a more flexible work schedule. I work more now than I ever have.

Careful what you wish for; it might come true.
