adCenter Analytics Closes

by

Ok I’m so 50/50 on this as a business man, I think it’s a smart move on the adcenter blog post they even listed loads of other analytics vendors and that marketplace is so crowded with GA having a clear lead and a justified lead at that.

But, from an Seo’s point of view it’s a big lose, ok adCenter Analytics was poor, sorry guys you know it was but it had promise and I hope that the promise I saw still lives in adcenter’s heart ;) , for me it give an trusted option to offer clients data is so often given away cheaply !

and this year I’m speaking at so many more none seo events than ever before. and one question I get asked alot “do you think Google has too much data and is it healthy that they know how much traffic they send us when buying adwords?”

at the moment I trust Google to do the right thing for my customers and Google.

Just got the mail. Shame it didn’t live up to potential, and sad that there will be less alternatives in the market. But I have to agree – it didn’t become the analytics tool many of us hoped, and after a while I just used GA and forgot about Gateneau TBH :( Lately been using Woopra more and more.

Oh well.. roll on Yahoo! for a new change :)

I have tested and can recommend Woopra – http://www.woopra.com/ as an alternative to Google Analytics.

I agree with you, Dave, that for now, I feel I can just about trust Google. But whether that will remain the case is a HUGE question. The big worry is that when a time comes when we can no longer afford to give Google that kind of trust, will we have invested too much, find it too costly to change, or worse, have left ourselves no real alternatives?

I was able to wrangle access to adCenter Analytics thanks to a nice MS PR guy here in Italy. I liked the fact that data was often updated quicker than GA. I also liked the fact that MS seemed to want to give Google a run for its money.

Yet at the SMX West session “In-house SEO: SEO Reporting & Scorecarding for Management” last month I nearly dropped out of my seat when Duane Forrester, Senior Program Manager SEO, Microsoft, mentioned Google Analytics as a tool to use.

He said something to the effect “Don’t worry about Google seeing your data with Google Analytics”; in my write-up of the session, I commented “refreshing candor here! … Also note a lack of adCenter analytics on the list”.(Ref http://www.antezeta.com/blog/seo-reporting-for-management/ )

So the writing was on the wall.

Now let’s hope Yahoo! doesn’t give up the ghost with Index Tools / Yahoo Analytics.

Je pravda, že České republiky se nástroj vyhnul takřka kompletně, neboť propojení s kampaněmi v Microsoft Advertising využívá málokdo, a ani po světe nepřibývalo mnoho slávy. [...]

I agree, for now we can just about trust Google. When that changes I think it will be the beginning of the end for them.
