Yep, its that time again .. to change the David Naylor site and bring in a fresh new look, new functionality and another logo! I’ll just be going through the final few checks tonight on the dev site ready for it to roll out in the morning … if all goes to plan.

We’re going more “corporate” if thats the right word .. and its quite “grown up”. During the design phases… (and I’ve got to thank Kean who put in a lot of his own time over the Christmas hols getting the design together) … we have taken on board lots of your comments from previous redesigns and suggestions of what you would like to see. So let’s see if we have ticked some boxes.

One thing we have resurrected is my favourite slogan from a few sites back “Can’t beat a good Rank” … and I still stand by that! :)

Anyway I’m sure you’ll either love or hate it .. but we can’t please you all. So until tomorrow…

The green is calmer than the past and i like it a lot. This really is a nice, non-over the top look and makes an easy read. Very professional. – and I dig these rounded comment boxes too.

    Me likes the new design.

The “service” elements on the left side are a nice touch, but perhaps too subtle? I’m not a designer, so I shouldn’t say much but wonder if a darker background would work? I’d also like to have hover over tool tips for the timid who are afraid to click without knowing what lurks behind the tab.

Initial thoughts was its rather bland and colorless compared to last years subtle colours and a nice simple layout , but on returning and seeing new posts its growing on me

I like the post numbers and the different colours for each post, thats a nice touch :)

Overall I think the ‘feel’ is a lot better and the layout quite pleasing to the eye.
Author pictures definitely make everything more friendly and personal, even though on a whole it’s more businessy.

Is there a specific reason you switched around reply content and name/date other than ‘to be different’?

Very nice Dave, all in all I like it.

The only think I feel worth a comment, is the lines of text on your service pages (SEO, PPC, etc) are rather long.

The site header seems pretty large, and I’m on a fairly big resolution.

I like it. I think it is cool that you update it once a year. However I mostly never come to the site since I read in my RSS reader.

Agree with the previous comments regarding how much better this design is than the last effort. Much more purposeful and nicely laid out. Well done!
